Universal Music Africa's own 13 July 2021 release describes 92i Africa as a label division offering brand and marketing partnerships, live production and touring services, plus making Booba's own 10-album catalogue available across Africa for the first time; it does not use the words 'masters,' 'publishing' or 'ownership' for any signed artist, including Didi B. What is independently traceable is the phonogram credit line on Didi B's own commercial releases: 92i Records on a May 2022 release, then Universal Music Africa on a June 2023 release (with Dadju), then Repat Agency from November 2024 onward, after 92i Africa's February 2024 lawsuit accused him of releasing more than 20 tracks without consultation. Read this before citing: ESTABLISHED. Universal Music Africa's own 13 July 2021 press release confirms 92i Africa launched as a label division of Booba's Tallac Records/92i, in partnership with Universal Music Africa and Universal Music France, based at UMA's Abidjan headquarters, covering 25 French, Spanish and Portuguese-speaking African countries. Didi B was named among the label's marquee launch signings alongside DopeBoy DMG (Senegal); Music In Africa's own 27 May 2021 report had already named him the label's second signing, quoting his statement 'Cette victoire est la notre, merci a tous, l'aventure commence.' No financial terms were disclosed by any party at launch, and none have been disclosed since.
WHAT THE CREDIT LINE SHOWS. Didi B's own commercial releases carry three different phonogram credits across four years, each independently read from a source: 92i Records (May 2022), Universal Music Africa (June 2023), then Repat Agency from November 2024 onward, including on the double album 'DIYILEM & BAZARHOFF : GENIUS' (April 2025) and the album 'Juventus Nueva Era' (November 2025). THE DISPUTE. 92i Africa's own communique, dated 9 February 2024 and reported by Sitanews, states that Didi B released and distributed more than 20 titles without consulting the label, causing it financial and reputational harm, and that 92i Africa would pursue the matter in court for damages. Booba said in September 2023 that Didi B remained signed to 92i but was 'in pain,' while separately denying an unrelated signing rumour. A 2023 Roc Nation rumour, based on a photograph of Didi B outside Roc Nation's New York building, was never confirmed by any party and does not appear on Roc Nation's own roster; it is not treated as established here.
THE MAY 2025 TAKEDOWN. Fraternite Matin reported on 23 May 2025 that 'DIYILEM & BAZARHOFF : GENIUS' was temporarily pulled from streaming platforms following a claim by a label over certain tracks. The label is not named in this or any other source checked. Didi B said in a statement that everything would soon return to normal and referred to unnamed parties trying to damage his image through illegal practices. Whether this claim originated with 92i Africa, Universal Music Africa, Repat Agency, Coast to Coast or a fourth party could not be established.
THE SETTLEMENT. A joint communique reported by Pulse Cote d'Ivoire on 8 May 2026 states the parties reached an amicable settlement judged satisfactory, preserving each party's interests, that 92i Africa is ending the judicial procedure, and that both parties will now pursue their activities independently. No settlement figure, no statement on masters ownership and no statement resolving the unnamed May 2025 takedown claim has been published by either side.
NOT ESTABLISHED. Ownership of Repat Agency and Coast to Coast could not be established; no filing register accessible to this desk covers either name, and no party statement links them to 92i Africa, Universal Music Africa or to each other beyond both appearing in connection with Didi B's own catalogue after the dispute began. Whether Universal Music Africa is itself a party to the 2026 settlement, or only 92i Africa as the label division that filed suit, is not stated in the only communique located.
