Quality Control Music is an Atlanta hip-hop label founded by Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas, best known for launching Migos, Lil Baby, City Girls and Lil Yachty. Trade coverage of February 2023 reports that HYBE America acquired its parent, QC Media Holdings, Inc., in the first transaction completed under Scooter Braun as sole chief executive of HYBE America.

The reported consideration does not agree across sources. Trade reports of 8 and 9 February 2023 describe a deal worth about $300m in cash and stock, with one account attributing a $250m cash and $50m stock split to HYBE regulatory disclosure, while at least one other trade outlet valued it at $320m and others record that no price was officially confirmed. HYBE’s own corporate newsroom returned HTTP 403 to this desk and no HYBE filing was obtained, so no single figure is treated here as established.

The company entered African repertoire for the first time on 9 October 2026, announcing Kenyan singer Bien-Aime Baraza, formerly of Sauti Sol, as its first African artist “in partnership with Courtesy Of LLC”. The phonogram credit on his first post-signing release, the single “I’ll Be Okay”, reads “℗ 2026 Quality Control Music, LLC”. The credit on the album announced to follow it, Alusa Continua, reads “℗ 2026 Courtesy Of, LLC/Quality Control Music”. What Courtesy Of, LLC is, and who owns or controls it, could not be established from any source read for this record.

Quality Control’s own website carried no reference to Bien, to the signing or to Courtesy Of, LLC when fetched on 16 October 2026. That is recorded as an absence in that document, not as a denial.
