PAVRISK, the Performing and Audio-Visual Rights Society of Kenya, is a Kenyan collective management organisation that collects and distributes royalties for performers, producers and audio-visual rights holders. It traces back to the Performers Rights Society of Kenya, founded on 1 November 2009, which was later renamed PAVRISK and had its mandate expanded to cover audio-visual performers alongside musicians. It is independent and member-owned, led by chief executive Joseph K. Njagih.
Under a 2024 restructuring by the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO), PAVRISK was named the lead collector for general licensing and broadcast royalties, with a related body, KAMP, handling new-media and public-service-vehicle licensing. PAVRISK made its first royalty distribution in September 2025, paying out roughly $186,000 (KSh24 million) to just under 6,000 verified members.
Kenya’s collective-rights sector has been contentious, with KAMP, the Music Copyright Society of Kenya and PAVRISK repeatedly disputing licence awards before the Copyright Tribunal and the courts. PAVRISK’s own operating licence has been renewed in short increments rather than on a long-term basis, most recently a six-month provisional licence granted in May 2025 under a High Court directive.
