GoDigital

A US IP-rights holding company whose Cinq Music Group label has built named distribution and catalogue-acquisition partnerships in Nigeria and Kenya since mid-2026.

Based in
West Palm Beach, FL (per the company's own site, godigital.com). Wikipedia's infobox instead gives Santa Monica at founding; PitchBook gives Marina del Rey; trade press describes the GoDigital Music division specifically as Los Angeles-based. This record could not resolve which address is the group's current operating headquarters versus a divisional office., United States
Founded
2006, per the company's own site, crediting founder Jason Peterson (Los Angeles). Wikipedia's infobox instead gives 2005 in Santa Monica, California, with three founders: Peterson, Logan Mulvey and Dave Lindsay. PitchBook gives 2006 in Marina del Rey, California. This record does not resolve the discrepancy between the company's own account and the secondary sources.
Founder
Jason Peterson (per the company's own site). Wikipedia additionally names Logan Mulvey and Dave Lindsay as co-founders; this could not be corroborated against a source the company itself publishes.

GoDigital, also known as GoDigital Media Group, is a privately held United States media and technology holding company built on intellectual property rights management. Its recorded-music arm is Cinq Music Group, created in 2012 and funded through successive capital injections, most recently $230 million announced on 3 November 2025 alongside a stated strategy of acquiring catalogues in reggaeton, Musica Mexicana, Afrobeats, K-pop and country music. GoDigital is not a public reporting company, so no SEC or Companies House filing sets out its ownership; it is described in trade and financial-data press as privately held.

The company has no African subsidiary or office of its own, but Cinq has built two named, ongoing African arrangements since mid-2026. In July, Cinq partnered with Cream, the Nigerian direct-to-consumer platform run by D’Banj, acquiring D’Banj’s catalogue and launching a talent pipeline through Cream’s “Best of the Streets” contest to sign further artists. In August, Cinq entered a distribution partnership with Soul HQ, a Nairobi-based, female-led artist-development and label-services company founded by Faiza Hersi, launching three Afro-R&B artists (Xenia Manasseh, AYLO and Altair Said) with an active release schedule under the Cinq label.

Founding details are disputed between sources: the company’s own site credits Jason Peterson with a 2006 start in Los Angeles, while Wikipedia gives 2005 in Santa Monica with three founders (Peterson, Logan Mulvey and Dave Lindsay), and PitchBook gives 2006 in Marina del Rey. Peterson is named across all sources as chairman and chief executive of both GoDigital and Cinq Music Group.
