SAMPRA

South Africa's collective management organisation for needletime (neighbouring) rights.

Based in
Johannesburg, South Africa

The South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA) is the collective management organisation for needletime, or neighbouring, rights in South Africa, based in Johannesburg. It licenses the broadcast and public performance of sound recordings and collects and distributes the resulting royalties to record companies and recording artists.

SAMPRA is the counterpart on the recording side to SAMRO’s composer and publisher licensing, and administers rights that flow to performers and master owners rather than songwriters.
