Untitled Basement is a live-music venue, bar and events space at 7 Reserve Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, established in 2017 by the DJ Kenzhero and Bradley Williams. It operates as a two-part site: Artivist, the upstairs restaurant and art gallery, and the basement room that gives the venue its name and hosts its concerts and private events.
The room is built on a deliberate “no stage” arrangement, with performers standing among the audience rather than raised above it. Programming runs across world music, bossa nova, house, amapiano and South African jazz and soul.
The venue sells tickets through the Quicket platform rather than its own box office, and is listed on Resident Advisor, Songkick and Xceed. It has no working website of its own: the associated domain artivist.co.za no longer resolves to a live site, and Instagram serves as its main owned channel. Published accounts of the venue put it at roughly 65 shows and about 6,000 tickets a year, and more than 400 music events since opening.
