CRG (Creatives Record Group) is an Ethiopian record label based in Addis Ababa. It describes itself as a technology-driven label and entered the music business in 2022 with a roster it says covers more than 100 Ethiopian artists across traditional, pop, hip hop and gospel styles, including Teddy Afro, Aster Aweke and producer Yamlu Molla.
CRG is a subsidiary of 2F Capital, an Addis Ababa technology company legally established as TWOF Capital PLC in June 2020. Alongside CRG, 2F Capital runs the Sewasew Multimedia streaming app, which several CRG-signed artists’ pages also list as their label, and a handful of other technology ventures including an upskilling platform and an advertising business. No individual founder of CRG or of 2F Capital is named on either company’s own site.
The label operates in a market long dominated by YouTube-native release strategies, and pitches itself on paying songwriters and producers rather than only performing artists. Independent trade press coverage of CRG is thin; most of what is verifiable here comes from the company’s own site and its parent’s About page.
