Focalistic’s own catalogue has carried an “18 Area Holdings” phonogram credit since April 2020, but the Vth Season partnership reported to sit behind that label appears in the credit line itself on only two releases, six years ago, and has not been named there since. Every Focalistic-led album and EP checked from December 2020 through his newest single in September 2026 carries the credit “18 Area Holdings” alone. No filing, registry entry or fresh statement obtained for this record shows a written contract between Focalistic (Lethabo Sebetso) and Vth Season, states what either company owns, or confirms whether the “partnership” two South African trade outlets described in 2020 is still in force six years later.

What actually changed, and when

Before his own label existed, Sebetso’s releases were credited to Major League Music: his May 2019 EP “18 Area,” which introduced the name he would later give his own company, carries that credit on both Apple Music’s and Deezer’s catalogue entries. “18 Area” is South African slang for the penalty box on a soccer pitch, a reference this desk did not independently trace beyond its use as the EP and, later, the company name.

In early 2020, Sebetso set up his own label using that name, 18 Area Holdings. Two independent South African outlets, The Plug and Zkhiphani, reported the move within the same year, both describing it as a “partnership” with Vth Season, the independent label and artist-development company that had held AKA’s masters on and off since 2011. The partnership is visible in Focalistic’s own catalogue metadata on exactly two releases: his EP “Quarantined Tarantino,” released 10 April 2020, and the single “Blecke,” released 1 May 2020, both of which carry the phonogram credit “Vth Season/18 Area Holdings.” Every Focalistic-led release since, starting with his debut album “Sghubu Ses Excellent” on 4 December 2020 and continuing through “President Ya Straata” (2021), “Ghetto Gospel” (2022), “13POS” (2024), “B.O.A.T.S” (2025) and his newest single, “Gumba Fire,” released 4 September 2026, carries the credit “18 Area Holdings” by itself, with no mention of Vth Season in the copyright line.

That does not mean the relationship ended.
