Dapper Group is a Lagos-based entertainment company founded in 2018 by Damilola “Dapper” Akinwunmi. What began as a music distribution operation, Dvpper Digital, grew into a group spanning a record label, a music publisher, a live events division and a music-video production house.
The group is independent and privately held, with Akinwunmi as founder and Group CEO and Temitayo “Tee-Y Mix” Ibitoye as Vice President. Its label arm, Dapper Music & Entertainment, has carried Nigerian streaming market share into the high single digits by capturing a run of Lagos street-pop and Afrobeats acts, and its live division staged the Guinness World Record-holding “Trench Symphony” orchestral concert in December 2025.
Dapper Group has also drawn public criticism from former artists over contract terms; several of its highest-profile signings left the label between mid-2024 and the end of that year, and Akinwunmi has publicly denied allegations that he sold artists’ catalogues to a distributor.
