Wizkid's Made in Lagos album nearing RIAA Platinum certification

Nigerian artist Wizkid’s 2020 album Made in Lagos has surpassed 985,000 units in the United States, placing it within 15,000 units of Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Platinum certification.

Platinum certification requires one million certified units. The album reached RIAA Gold status in 2022 after surpassing 500,000 units, becoming the first African album to earn that certification.

The project has maintained commercial performance in the US since its release. It now sits fewer than 15,000 units from the one million mark.
