South Africa’s Zakes Bantwini Debuts on Anjunadeep With ‘Impatient/You Never Know’

Zakes Bantwini, the South African GRAMMY-winning artist, has released his debut on the Anjunadeep label, a two-track EP titled Impatient/You Never Know, featuring Sun-El Musician, kisskisskiss and Jordan Arts.

The release pairs Bantwini with fellow South African producer Sun-El Musician and emerging vocalist kisskisskiss on “Impatient,” while “You Never Know” features South African-born, London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Arts.

Bantwini’s career and recent moves

Bantwini has been active in South Africa’s electronic and Afro house scene for more than two decades. He won the GRAMMY for Best Global Music Performance in 2023 for “Bayethe,” a collaboration with Nomcebo Zikode and Wouter Kellerman. His track “Osama” with Kasango has surpassed 60 million streams and spent 14 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on South African radio.

In 2026, Bantwini launched the Zakes Bantwini Foundation and performed in New York, Bali and South Africa through his Mayonie Productions brand.

Sun-El Musician is known for the hit “Akanamali” and holds multiple multi-platinum certifications from the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). He recently headlined the Red Bull Symphonic South Africa concert at Johannesburg’s Montecasino Outdoor Events Area.

Jordan Arts has received support from international acts such as David Guetta, Paul van Dyk and Lane 8, and has performed at Ultra South Africa and the Anywhere In Your City festival in Durban.

The two-track release extends Bantwini’s presence in international electronic music while bringing together established and emerging South African talent.
