Visual rollout
The new video follows several visuals released for Electric Zululand. Among them is “Uhlanga,” featuring Zoë Modiga, which was released ahead of the album and draws from Nguni mythology surrounding the belief that humanity emerged from reeds. The accompanying visual uses natural elements and storytelling to develop that concept.
Muzi has also released visuals for “Khethile” featuring Msaki, “Ismanjemanje,” “Thetha” featuring Lukhanyiso Soci, “Nobadi” and other songs connected to the project. The “Thetha” video is the seventh visual from Electric Zululand, while the “Khethile” release followed visuals for “Zilande” and “Uhlanga.”
With “Hangout,” Muzi adds another visual chapter to Electric Zululand. The song sits within an album that moves across electronic, dance and African musical influences while featuring a range of South African collaborators. The latest release extends the project’s continuing transition from an audio album into a collection of accompanying visual works.
