Safaricom Ethiopia has launched 4G mobile coverage in six towns in Ethiopia’s Southern Ethiopia region: Sawla, Selam Ber, Basketo, Leha, Beto and surrounding communities.
The rollout follows a meeting between Safaricom Ethiopia representatives and Sawla City Mayor Belayneh Bahiru before the network went live. The mayor welcomed the expansion and pointed to the importance of reliable telecommunications infrastructure for local development.
The new coverage is expected to improve access to digital services and connectivity for residents and businesses in underserved areas, creating opportunities for greater participation in the digital economy.
Safaricom Ethiopia will also open customer service shops in Sawla and nearby locations as part of the rollout. The facilities will give customers easier access to the company’s telecommunications services and support.
