Teledalase, a Nigerian-American singer-songwriter, has issued “SANGO, IGI NLA,” a single that examines Yoruba mythology, spirituality and identity.
The song references Sàngó, the Yoruba deity associated with thunder, lightning, power and justice, and the phrase “Igi Nla,” meaning “great tree.” Teledalase uses traditional percussion, rhythmic patterns and layered vocals to connect contemporary alternative music with Yoruba musical expression.
The release follows projects including “The ones who didn’t die, Pt. 1” and “The Bad Wife has no Tongue,” continuing the cultural and spiritual themes in her catalogue.
Teledalase was named an Apple Music Africa Rising artist in 2025 and contributed music to the Netflix series “Aníkúlápó: Rise of the Spectre.”
