Full Time Hobby, an independent record label based in London, United Kingdom, is hiring a project manager to coordinate digital and physical releases across its roster.
The role sits within the Full Time Hobby Music group (FTHM), which also includes Hassle Records, publishing and management. It is a full-time, permanent position reporting to FTHM directors, with working hours of 10am to 6pm and additional hours as needed for shows and promotion.
The post is based in Dalston, London, with flexibility to work remotely when appropriate. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience. Applications close at 6pm on Friday 4 September.
Label background#
Full Time Hobby has operated as a fully independent label since 2004, releasing leftfield singer-songwriter, folk, alt country, indie-pop, alt rock, garage rock and psych music. Its roster has included Ghostwoman, Tunng, White Denim, Timber Timbre, Squirrel Flower, Sylvie and School of Seven Bells, among others.
The label describes itself as run by avid music fans who balance artistic and commercial considerations. It says it supports environmental causes, raises money for charities through its work and encourages volunteering where possible.
Role and responsibilities#
- Coordinate and facilitate digital and physical releases
- Work with physical and digital distribution teams, generate sales notes and pitch documents
- Ensure all deadlines are met for physical and digital releases and adhere to campaign timelines
- Liaise with designers and mastering engineers to create digital masters and manufacturers to create physical LPs and CDs
- Coordinate promotion and marketing schedules domestically and internationally
- Work closely with artists and managers to help realise artists’ creative vision and coordinate all audio and visual aspects of a campaign
- Run regular campaign updates and keep all team members aware of significant promotion, live and marketing developments
- Work to budget and help deliver all aspects of a campaign within budget
- Look for innovative ways to market and promote artists and releases
- Work with the D2C (direct-to-consumer) manager to deliver all aspects of D2C releases and fan CRM (customer relationship management)
- Carry out other work as necessary to support the running of FTHM and help drive sales and awareness of artists and releases
