Open call: Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation 2026 funding programmes

Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 funding programmes, covering contemporary music projects, youth initiatives and emerging ensembles. The first deadlines fall on 1 October 2026.

Spanish conductor Jordi Savall is among past recipients of the foundation’s music prize.

Project funding#

The project funding programme supports contemporary music projects internationally. Eligible activities include:

  • festivals
  • world premieres and revivals
  • composition commissions
  • academies
  • music education programmes
  • symposia
  • musicological publications

Applications for the next round close on 1 October 2026 at 2 p.m. CEST (Central European Summer Time). Funded projects may start from 1 January 2027.

Youth projects#

The foundation is continuing a dedicated funding programme for youth projects. It focuses on initiatives where young people actively participate in developing and shaping projects, and on programmes that introduce musical content to children and young audiences.

The foundation plans to support 20 projects with €25,000 (about $29,000) each. Applications opened on 1 July 2026 and close on 1 October 2026 at 2 p.m. CEST. Successful projects may begin from 1 January 2027.

Ensemble Prize#

Young contemporary music ensembles can apply for the Ensemble Prize, which supports two ensembles each year in their artistic and organisational development. Applications for the next round open in January 2027, with a deadline of 1 March 2027.

Applicants whose previous submission was made before 2025 should create a new account before applying. More information and application guidelines are available through the foundation’s funding portal.
