Webtickets is a South African online and in-store event-ticketing platform, operating since 2007 out of Cape Town after originating as a 2001 initiative of Silverspider web systems. It provides ticketing, marketing and customer-database infrastructure for event organisers and venues, covering concerts, festivals, theatre, attractions and race entries, with products including the Webtickets Card, in-venue point-of-sale, ticket transfers, access control and cashless NFC payment.
The company was co-founded by Jonathan Wayne and Christy Turner, with Turner overseeing product development and IT strategy. It operates across South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Malawi, and since 2014 has held an exclusive retail partnership with Pick n Pay and Boxer stores, putting physical ticket sales in more than 1,000 outlets.
Webtickets is one of the ticketing platforms South African concert promoters route sales through, appearing for example as a vendor for rapper 25K’s September 2026 Pretoria show, alongside general-events and attractions clients such as Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
