Ticketmaster South Africa is the local operation of Live Nation Entertainment’s ticketing platform, launched in Cape Town in April 2022. It was Ticketmaster’s first entry into the South African market, bringing its digital ticketing technology to local venues, promoters and sports bodies for the first time.
The launch followed two high-profile onsales handled by the platform: Justin Bieber’s Justice World Tour, described as the first major international tour in South Africa to sell all tickets online, and the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens. Justin Van Wyk, who also leads Big Concerts International (Live Nation’s South African promoter, part of the same group), is managing director of Ticketmaster South Africa.
As part of Live Nation Entertainment, Ticketmaster South Africa is not independently owned; it sits alongside Big Concerts as the ticketing arm of Live Nation’s South African business, handling ticket sales for concerts, theatre and sport.
