S-Curve Records is an independent record label founded in 2000 by Steve Greenberg, a former Mercury Records and Columbia Records executive, who remains founder and chief executive. Greenberg sold the label’s recording and publishing assets to BMG Rights Management in November 2015 for a reported fee of approximately $10 million, staying on at BMG to run the imprint before departing in 2021. He relaunched the S-Curve name that June in a worldwide label partnership with Disney Music Group: S-Curve leads artist signings, A&R and marketing, while Disney’s Hollywood Records provides promotion, synchronization and distribution. The label’s pre-2015 catalogue, including hits by Baha Men, Joss Stone and Fountains of Wayne, remained with BMG and was not part of the 2021 relaunch.
Its current roster, per the label’s own website, includes Andy Grammer, Daisy the Great, Netta, The Moss, Yola and Rwandan artist Bruce Melodie. Bruce Melodie’s own recorded catalogue carried an S-Curve Records phonographic credit on seven releases between 27 October 2023 and 17 January 2025, the first three explicitly “under exclusive license,” confirmed directly against Apple’s and Deezer’s own catalogue metadata. No Bruce Melodie release checked since has carried an S-Curve credit on either platform, though the label’s roster page still listed him as of this profile.
Ownership: independent, founder-led, operating under a label services and distribution partnership with Disney Music Group since 2021.
