KAMP Copyright and Related Rights Limited, known for most of its history as the Kenya Association of Music Producers, is a Kenyan collective management organisation representing sound recording producers. It was incorporated in 2003 and licensed by the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) in May 2008; a 2024 rebrand expanded its remit to cover performers and other related-rights holders alongside producers. It is independent and member-owned, not affiliated with any label or publisher group.
KAMP’s core business is licensing music users, including broadcasters, venues, DJs and retailers, and distributing the resulting royalties to its more than 700 Kenyan producer members. In 2026 it signed reciprocal agreements with the US collecting society SoundExchange, intended to route neighbouring-rights payments between Kenyan and American rights holders.
Kenya’s three-way CMO landscape, long split between KAMP, the Music Copyright Society of Kenya and PAVRISK, has been unusually contentious: KECOBO suspended KAMP’s operating licence in July 2026 over royalty-distribution allegations, and the dispute was still working through Kenya’s Copyright Tribunal as of this writing.
