The Jungle Recording Company Limited, trading as Jungle, is a Nigerian music distribution and infrastructure group headquartered in Owerri, Imo State. Founded in 2012 as Jungle Entertainment Ventures, it now offers digital distribution under the Afrobeats Distro brand alongside adaptive mastering, streaming radio, royalty collection and white-label aggregator infrastructure that other distributors build on. It is named by its own CEO, David Evans, in 2020/21 press coverage of a dispute with Boomplay Music, when Jungle and Free Me Digital pulled their catalogues over unpaid royalties.
Ownership is independent; no shareholding filing was located, and Evans’ role beyond CEO is not confirmed. Jungle’s historical distribution clients have included Falz, Adekunle Gold and Ajebutter22, though its current roster is not independently confirmed.
Jungle’s relevance to the wider industry includes being named directly by Mdundo.com A/S, the Nasdaq-listed African streaming platform, as one of three African record companies it signed agreements with in the 2020/21 financial year, alongside Davido Music Worldwide.
