Ambitiouz Entertainment is an independent South African record label based in Johannesburg, founded in 2015 by Kgosi Mahumapelo. It became known in the late 2010s for developing a generation of local hip-hop and Afropop acts.
The label is founder-owned. It has been through public disputes over artist contracts and payments and a period of financial difficulty, and in 2026 announced a relaunch with a new roster of signings.
It matters as a case study in the risks and disputes around South African independent label deals as much as for the artists it launched.
