A.I Records Kenya Limited

Based in
Nairobi, Kenya
Founded
1950s
Founder
Michael Andrews

A.I Records is a Nairobi record company whose catalogue of East African recordings, made largely between the 1970s and the 1990s, is credited on streaming services to A.I Records Kenya Limited. Universal Music Group acquired 70 per cent of the company in March 2018 through its Dutch subsidiary; the founding Andrews family retained 30 per cent. The recordings themselves did not change hands: releases dated as recently as August 2026 still carry the Kenyan company as phonogram owner.
