Read this before citing: RIGHTS LANGUAGE, PRECISELY. OWNS: Kennis Music is named under both Phonographic Copyright (p) and Copyright (c) on the physical editions of Face 2 Face (catalogue KMVCD 037), and as phonogram owner on the Face 2 Face 10.0 digital reissue of 17 December 2014. ALSO CLAIMS TO OWN, ON A DIFFERENT PRODUCT OF THE SAME ALBUM: A Guy Entertainment is named as phonogram owner, with no licence qualifier, on the 11-track digital edition dated 15 May 2004 that is on sale today. ALSO CLAIMS TO OWN, ON A THIRD PRODUCT OF THE SAME MATERIAL: Hypertek Digital is named as phonogram owner on the five-track FACE 2 FACE 10.0 EP of 14 May 2021. LICENSES: CiDAR Africa is named as EXCLUSIVE LICENSEE, not owner, on the 2026 single "Mental"; the named owners on that line are 2baba and Yankee Entertainment. An exclusive licence conveys a right to exploit for a term in a territory. It is not an assignment and it does not move the copyright. ADMINISTERS: Kenny Ogungbe Music Publishing is named under Published By on the physical product. That is a publishing credit on a record. It establishes who was named as publisher of the compositions in 2004 and nothing about today. DISTRIBUTES: not established for any edition. No distributor is named on any credit line read for this record. || CONTRADICTIONS, UNRESOLVED. (1) Two live commercial products of the same 2004 album name different owners of the same recordings: A Guy Entertainment on the 11-track edition, Kennis Music on the 18-track 10.0 edition. Both resolve, in two storefronts each, on 23 October 2026. No instrument explaining the difference was located. (2) A Guy Entertainment was publicly unveiled on 8 July 2025 as 2Baba's MANAGEMENT TEAM. It is named as phonogram owner on a 2004 master and on a single dated 25 October 2024, nine months before the unveiling. No source read describes the company as a label or a rights holder. (3) The Discogs label database contains no label called A Guy Entertainment, and no UK company of that name exists on the register. Nigeria's CAC has no public API, so the Nigerian register was NOT checked and the UK absence is not evidence of non-existence. (4) The three products carrying the A Guy Entertainment credit sit in three different GS1 barcode prefixes (797885, 198622, 705610), which is inconsistent with one company registering its own catalogue. (5) REGISTRY DIVERGENCE ON THE 2025 DELUXE: Apple reads "℗ 2025 HYPERTEK DIGITAL" on UNSTOPPABLE THE DELUXE EDITION (collection 1833533499, 5 September 2025), while the Deezer album API returns a label field of "Chocolate City Music" for the same title and date at UPC 5034644927091. The two registries disagree about which company stands behind that product. Unresolved. (6) REGISTRY DIVERGENCE ON GRASS 2 GRACE: Deezer carries 2Baba's Grass 2 Grace (album 6261883, 13 tracks, label Kennis Music, UPC 843041058193, 8 December 2006) and MusicBrainz carries it under Kennis Music. The Apple catalogue for artistId 924923478 returns NO 2Baba Grass 2 Grace in either the United States or the Nigerian storefront. The album is missing from one of the three registries, not differently credited in it. (7) The Def Jam Recordings Africa / Hypertek / Gaaga Entertainment credit on "Mad Over Hills" and "Bebe" is pipe-separated with no licence wording, while the Deezer label field on both returns "Universal Music International Company Limited" against Universal-prefix UPCs 602448824233 and 602455008831. Which of those four companies owns the recordings is not stated anywhere. || NOT ESTABLISHED. No sale, assignment, reversion, buy-back or licence of the Face 2 Face masters is documented in any source read. No party has issued a statement claiming or conceding ownership of them. Who owns Kennis Music, A Guy Entertainment or CiDAR Africa could not be established: Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission publishes no searchable API. Hypertek Digital has NO UK company registration. CAUTION: the UK register carries HYPERTEK LTD (11365138, SIC 71200, technical testing and analysis) and HYPERTEK MAURITIUS LTD (12022447, SIC 95110, repair of computers and peripheral equipment). Neither is a music company and NEITHER IS CONNECTED TO 2BABA by anything read here. Do not cite them. Likewise a UK search for "cidar" returns CIDAR LTD (12193948) at a Companies House default address, with no established connection to CiDAR Africa. Do not conflate them. The publishing position on the compositions TODAY could not be established. The Mechanical Licensing Collective public search is a JavaScript application and returned no machine-readable result to this desk; sonymusicpub.com was not fetchable. The site already carries, under deal 3709, that Hypertek signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Sony/ATV on 15 September 2020 covering 2Baba's catalogue; that is an administration and representation relationship and is not re-asserted here as ownership. Yankee Entertainment, Gaaga Entertainment and S2DB Entertainment appear only as credit-line names. No register entry for any of them was located; a UK search for "Yankee Entertainment" returns only dissolved Glasgow companies, unconnected. REBIRTH Music: the credit line on "Celebrate" and "Balling" reads REBIRTH Music, and the Deezer label field agrees. A Lagos distributor of that name is in this directory. The desk did NOT establish that they are the same entity, and the company is therefore not listed as a party to this record.

What the documents say

Two separate commercial products of the same 2004 album are on sale at the same time, and they name different owners of the recordings.

Edition one. Apple collection 1776205794, titled Face 2 Face, 11 tracks, release date 15 May 2004. The phonographic copyright line reads ℗ 2004 A Guy Entertainment. The track listing is the original album: “Intro (Skit)”, “Nfana Ibaga (No Problem)”, “Ole”, “Right Here”, “Holy (Skit)”, “U No Holy Pass”, “African Queen”, “Police (Skit)”, “Keep On Rocking”, “Thank U Lord”, “Odi Ya”. Deezer album 661880361 returns the same release date, the same 11 tracks and a label field of A Guy Entertainment against UPC 797885464507. A 17-track “South African Edition”, Deezer album 661883951, UPC 797885464934, carries the same label field.

Edition two. Apple collection 967764294, titled Face 2 Face 10.0, 18 tracks, release date 17 December 2014. The phonographic copyright line reads ℗ 2014 Kennis Music. It contains the same 11 recordings plus seven extras. Deezer album 11702102 returns label Kennis Music against UPC 889176325038.

Edition three, a five-track cut of the same package. Apple collection 1638737301, “FACE 2 FACE 10.0 – EP”, release date 14 May 2021, reads ℗ 2021 Hypertek Digital. Deezer album 344395517 returns label Hypertek Digital against UPC 757572919444. Hypertek Digital is 2Baba’s own label.

Which claim the older registries support

The physical product is unambiguous and it does not support the A Guy Entertainment line. The credit transcription for the Nigerian CD, catalogue number KMVCD 037, names Kennis Music under Phonographic Copyright (p) and again under Copyright (c), with Kenny Ogungbe Music Publishing under Published By and the rights society on the product recorded as BMI. Three further label editions sit under Kennis Music in the same release database: a Nigerian CD at KMCD 080, a South African edition at KMSA 0001 and a worldwide AAC edition. MusicBrainz carries both Face 2 Face and the 2006 follow-up Grass 2 Grace under Kennis Music. Apple separately carries the 2006 single “For Instance” at ℗ 2006 Kennis Music.

The Discogs label database contains no label called A Guy Entertainment at all. Its name appears on this album only on the live digital editions at Apple and Deezer.

Who A Guy Entertainment is

A Guy Entertainment is 2Baba’s management company. It was unveiled on 8 July 2025 as his new management team, a year after he parted company with his previous management. Every report read for this record describes it in exactly those terms, a management team covering releases, brand partnerships, global engagements and creative collaborations. Mary Ebubedike is named as head of legal and communications. No source describes it as a record label, as the owner of a master recording, or as a distributor.

It is also the named phonogram owner on two recent solo singles: “KUKU GOOGLE AM”, dated 25 October 2024, where the Apple line reads ℗ 2024 A Guy Entertainment Limited and the Deezer label field carries the Limited suffix at UPC 198622869621; and “Salary 4 Life”, dated 26 September 2025, at UPC 705610315390. The October 2024 credit sits nine months before the company was publicly unveiled.

The three products carrying the credit do not share a barcode prefix with one another: 797885 on the 2004 album edition, 198622 on “KUKU GOOGLE AM”, 705610 on “Salary 4 Life”. A GS1 prefix identifies the party that registered the product. Three prefixes across three products under one credit is the shape of three different registering parties, not of one catalogue-owning company.

The wider credit churn

Across the rest of the catalogue the ownership line changes seven times in four years:

  • ℗ Hypertek Digital on the five albums dated 1 January 2014 (REWIND. SELECT. UPDATE, AWAY & BEYOND, UNSTOPPABLE, AWAY & BEYOND PLUS, Ascension), on Warriors (28 February 2020, UPC 795152501610), on Unstoppable International (30 April 2021) and on numerous singles from 2016 to 2022.
  • ℗ 2016 Hypertek Digital/Chocolate City Music on the single “Babylon”, 21 July 2016: two companies on one phonogram line with no licence wording to separate them.
  • ℗ 2021 Now Muzik Entertainment Services Ltd on a 2016-dated release of “5050”, the only credit in the catalogue naming his former management company as phonogram owner.
  • ℗ Def Jam Recordings Africa / Hypertek / Gaaga Entertainment on “Mad Over Hills” (11 November 2022), “Bebe” (10 February 2023) and the Rebirth EP (21 November 2025, copyright year 2024). Three companies, pipe-separated, with nothing to say which owns and which services.
  • ℗ 2025 HYPERTEK DIGITAL on UNSTOPPABLE THE DELUXE EDITION, 5 September 2025.
  • ℗ 2025 REBIRTH Music on “Celebrate” and “Balling”, both 12 December 2025.
  • ℗ 2026 2baba / Yankee Entertainment Under Exclusive license to CiDAR Africa on “Mental” with Fave, 18 September 2026, UPC 787960332425. This is the first credit in the whole catalogue to put his own name on the ownership side of the line.

What is NOT established

No document read for this record shows a sale, assignment, reversion or licence of the Face 2 Face masters by anyone to anyone. No party has published a statement claiming or conceding ownership of them. The deal value is not a question of non-disclosure: there is no disclosed transaction to value. This record documents competing claims in registry metadata, and the absence of any instrument explaining them, and nothing more than that.
