Disputed. The January 2016 report described a new holding company, "Tacwise," in which Universal Music held 51% and the five Kalawa Jazmee founders (trading as "Dangerous Combination") held the remaining 49%, covering the Kalawa Jazmee Records label and its catalogue. No primary source confirms Tacwise ever existed as a registered entity. The label's own phonogram credits from 2010 through 2026 name only Kalawa Jazmee, then later Legend Live, We Are NextGen, Kunye and Sony Music Entertainment Africa; none names Universal Music or Tacwise.

Nehanda Radio's 30 January 2016 republication of Sowetan's original report, naming the Tacwise structure, the 51/49 split and the R28m/R50m figures, with on-record denials from Oskido, Mahoota and Universal's Dharam Sewraj · The Voice of SA's matching 30 January 2016 citation of the same Sowetan report: same Tacwise structure, same 51/49 split, same R28m/R50m figures and the same three denials · Sowetan's 17 July 2023 interview: Oskido says the founders avoided restrictive contracts and "kept ownership of our catalogue" through distribution-only deals, and describes the company as restructuring with announcements still to come · Sowetan's 26 April 2019 label-history feature; no mention of Universal Music or Tacwise · 2021 obituary coverage confirming Dharam Sewraj's role as a senior Universal Music Africa executive (Commercial Affairs and Local Music Director), independently of Sowetan's 2016 reporting · Apple Music catalogue search, 96 Kalawa Jazmee/Oskido-credited releases 2010-2026; every (p) phonogram line through 2022 reads "Kalawa Jazmee" or "Kalawa Jazmee Records," none names Universal Music or Tacwise; from 2021 the credit shifts to Legend Live, then to We Are NextGen, Kunye and, on one July 2024 single, "exclusively distributed under Sony Music Entertainment Africa" · Discogs label-credit search, same pattern, releases from 1996 to 2021, all crediting Kalawa Jazmee · Kalawa Jazmee's own site, describing the label today as independently owned and run by its founding producers

Read this before citing: No South African companies-registry check was possible: CIPC has no free public search interface available to this desk, and OpenCorporates' lookup API requires a subscription token this desk does not hold. Whether Tacwise was ever actually incorporated as a minority-equity holding vehicle could not be confirmed or ruled out from a company register. The phonogram-credit review above shows what it shows and no more: no Kalawa Jazmee or Oskido-linked release has named Universal Music in a decade, which is consistent with the founders' denial but would also be consistent with an equity stake that never surfaced in release-facing branding. No document read by this desk states a current, resolved equity percentage for Kalawa Jazmee Records. The original Sowetan article from 30 January 2016 could not be located at a live URL; this record relies on two outlets that explicitly cite it with matching names, figures and quotes, not on the original article itself.
