- ANNOUNCED 6 NOVEMBER 2025; THE OFFICE IS UNCONFIRMED AND THE DISTRIBUTION RELATIONSHIPS ARE PARTLY CONTRADICTED BY THE RIGHTS RECORD. The appointment of Nuno Rocha and the stated intention to open a Luanda office "this fall" are established from the announcement itself. As at 1 October 2026, eleven months later, ONErpm's own Our Locations page does not list Luanda or mention Angola, and its own press-releases index contains no announcement of either the office or the appointment. That is an absence from the company's own published material, not a denial and not evidence that the office does not exist.
On the substance, no rights moved. Of the four acts named as Rocha signings, ONErpm's own earlier press release establishes that MAGIC! is Canadian, and the announcement itself calls Badoxa "Portugal's Badoxa." On the three artists checked against the rights record, the artists own their own master recordings in every case and ONErpm appears, where it appears at all, in a "distribuido por" line, which is distribution and not ownership or licence. ONErpm's credit never appears on any of the 43 Badoxa releases returned, including five post-announcement releases; it predates the announcement by fourteen months on Yuri da Cunha and by three and a half years on Chelsea Dinorath; and it is intermittent on both, with Altafonte Portugal reappearing on Yuri da Cunha in May 2026 and Warner Music Portugal appearing on Chelsea Dinorath in February 2026. Two Chelsea Dinorath releases carry mutually exclusive phonogram credits in Apple's catalogue and the conflict is unresolved. Nothing in this record establishes a term, territory, royalty rate or consideration for any arrangement described, and the publishing side is entirely unestablished.

- Trade report carrying ONErpm's announcement, dated 6 November 2025, by Murray Stassen. Fetched in full by this desk on 1 October 2026: HTTP 200, 79,546 bytes. Carries the Luanda office commitment, the scope of Nuno Rocha's remit, the four named signings and the Chelsea Dinorath citation, all quoted verbatim in this record. · ONErpm's own Our Locations page, fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200, 137,940 bytes). Lists the company's African offices verbatim as: Nigeria Lagos; Ghana Accra; Cote D'ivoire Abidjan; South Africa Cape Town; Kenya Nairobi; Tanzania Dar es Salaam; Egypt Cairo. The strings Luanda, Angola, Casablanca, Morocco, Tunis, Tunisia, Lisbon and Johannesburg are each absent from the page source. Portugal is listed as Porto only. Establishes that eleven months after the announcement the Luanda office is not on the company's own locations page. · ONErpm's own press-releases index, fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200, 110,142 bytes). Contains no instance of Luanda, Angola, Lusophone, Rocha, Nuno, MENA, Morocco or Tunisia. Establishes that the company never announced the Luanda office or the Rocha appointment in its own newsroom. · ONErpm's own press release, dated 19 January 2024, fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200). Opens "Today, the Canadian band MAGIC!, known universally for the 2014 smash hit 'Rude'". Establishes that MAGIC!, one of the four acts named in the Lusophone and Francophone Africa announcement as a signing, is Canadian. · Apple catalogue metadata for Badoxa, 43 collections, fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200). Establishes "(P) YYYY Ricardo Nobrega, Unipessoal Lda" as the phonogram credit on 37 of the 43 releases returned (34 as lead artist, three as a featured artist), dated 3 March 2014 to 22 May 2026, in every case with no distributor named; and establishes that no ONErpm credit appears on any of the 43, including the five releases dated 9 January, 13 February, 20 March, 1 May and 22 May 2026, all after the announcement. One 2016 edition of the album Memorias instead credits the natural person Ricardo Alves Nobrega. · Apple catalogue metadata for Yuri da Cunha, 61 collections, fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200). Establishes that the artist is the named phonogram owner on his own releases; that Altafonte Portugal, Lda. was the named distributor from 7 July 2013 to 13 October 2017 and again on 15 May 2026 under a K-Music phonogram credit; that ONErpm's first credit is dated 13 September 2024, fourteen months before the announcement; that the ONErpm credit is intermittent, absent on releases dated 18 April, 2 May and 17 November 2025; and that "(P) 2022 Geobek Records / MAD Solutions LLC" appears on a release dated 14 October 2022. · Apple catalogue metadata for Chelsea Dinorath, 38 collections, fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200). Establishes that she is the named phonogram owner where ONErpm appears; that the first ONErpm credit is dated 17 May 2022, three and a half years before the announcement; that her most recent release of 18 September 2026 names no distributor; that a release of 5 February 2026 is "distributed by Atlantic Records, a division of Warner Music Portugal, Lda." with the phonogram credited to a natural person; and the two duplicate-release contradictions on "Toi Et Moi" (17 May 2022, ONErpm versus Central Sonora) and "Teu (feat. Djodje)" (8 May 2026, ONErpm versus Was Lost Studios). · MusicBrainz release search for Badoxa, fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200), 7 releases. Returns labels E-Karga Eventz and Vidisco and a spurious label entry "Sociedade Unipessoal, Lda", a Portuguese legal-form suffix rather than a company. Checked as a second registry; does not corroborate Apple and is recorded as a divergence.
Read this before citing: WHAT IS VERIFIED, AND FROM WHAT. The announcement itself, its date of 6 November 2025, the scope of Nuno Rocha's remit, the Luanda office commitment, the "reinforcing" language on Morocco and Tunisia, the list of four named signings and the citation of Chelsea Dinorath as an Angolan success, are all verified from the single trade report that carries the announcement, fetched in full on 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200, 79,546 bytes). Direct quotations in this record are verbatim from that document. That ONErpm's own Our Locations page listed seven African offices not including Luanda, and did not mention Angola, Morocco or Tunisia, is verified from the page itself fetched 1 October 2026 (HTTP 200, 137,940 bytes). That MAGIC! is Canadian is verified from ONErpm's own press release of 19 January 2024. All phonogram credit lines quoted are verbatim from Apple's catalogue metadata for the three named artists, fetched 1 October 2026.
THIS IS NOT A RIGHTS TRANSACTION. No master recording, no publishing copyright and no catalogue changed hands. Nothing in this record should be read as ONErpm acquiring, owning or licensing anything. The announcement describes a personnel appointment, an office opening and distribution-services expansion. The afw_deal_type term Distribution is applied on that basis.
DISTRIBUTES IS NOT OWNS. The Portuguese phrase "distribuido por" means "distributed by." It is weaker than a licence and far weaker than ownership. On every release examined for this record where ONErpm is named, it is named in that phrase, and the phonogram owner named is the artist personally. ONErpm is not recorded anywhere in this evidence as owner or as exclusive licensee of any of this repertoire.
AN ABSENCE IS NOT A DENIAL. This record does NOT establish that ONErpm failed to open a Luanda office, nor that it has no Angolan operation. It establishes that as at 1 October 2026 the office is absent from the company's own locations page and the announcement is absent from the company's own press-releases index. A company's website may lag its operations. ONErpm was asked for nothing and said nothing to this desk; no approach was made and no comment was sought, and the absence of a comment should not be read as a refusal.
A SEPARATE AND UNRESOLVED CONFLICT IN THIS SITE'S OWN DIRECTORY. Afrobeats Wire's company record for ONErpm states, on sources dated 2026-08-16, that its African offices include Johannesburg with a named South Africa country lead. The locations page fetched for this record names Cape Town and does not contain the word Johannesburg. Whether the office moved, the page is wrong, or the earlier sourcing is now stale could not be established. It is flagged here rather than silently corrected.
THE CREDIT-LINE METHOD AND ITS LIMITS. A phonogram credit is a statement made by the rights holder through the distribution chain. It is good evidence of a claimed relationship at the moment of delivery. It is not a contract. It cannot show a term, a territory, a royalty rate, an advance, or an unexercised option, and it can be stale or wrong, as the two documented duplicate-release contradictions on Chelsea Dinorath demonstrate directly. Where ONErpm's credit is absent from a release, that absence is consistent with several explanations: a different distributor on that title, a release not delivered under the agreement, or simply metadata that was never updated. This record does not choose between them.
REGISTRIES DISAGREE WITH EACH OTHER. MusicBrainz was checked as a second registry and does not corroborate Apple. For Yuri da Cunha it returns two releases, one of them "O Interprete" (2015) under the label LS Producoes, where Apple's credit for the same album names Altafonte Portugal as distributor and the artist as owner. For Badoxa it returns seven releases under E-Karga Eventz and Vidisco, and a spurious label entry reading "Sociedade Unipessoal, Lda", which is not a company but a Portuguese legal-form suffix apparently parsed out of a longer credit string. MusicBrainz coverage of this repertoire is thin and in one case demonstrably corrupt. It was used as a check, not as a source for any ownership claim here.
WHAT COULD NOT BE ESTABLISHED, AND WHAT WAS CHECKED. (1) Whether a ONErpm office exists in Luanda today. Checked: ONErpm's Our Locations page, its press-releases index, and its WordPress REST API searched for the terms Luanda, Angola, Lusophone, Nuno, Rocha and MENA across posts and pages; zero results for Luanda and Lusophone. (2) The corporate identity, registration number, address and ownership of Ricardo Nobrega, Unipessoal Lda, Altafonte Portugal, Lda., Central Sonora, Was Lost Studios, Chasing Dreams, K-Music and Kriativa records. No Portuguese or Angolan commercial registry is reachable or searchable from this desk; neither Portugal's Registo Comercial nor any Angolan register was queried, and no filing for any of these entities was obtained. (3) The terms of any agreement between ONErpm and any artist or company named here: no term, territory, royalty rate, advance, exclusivity or commencement date is public for any of them. (4) Whether ONErpm's relationship with Badoxa exists at all. The announcement says Rocha was instrumental in signing him; the credit line never names ONErpm. These two statements are not necessarily inconsistent, because a distributor need not appear in a credit line, but no document was found that reconciles them. (5) The identity of the natural person named as phonogram owner on Chelsea Dinorath's 5 February 2026 release. This desk does not assert that it is the artist's legal name. (6) The nationality of Badoxa, which is not asserted here; the announcement calls him "Portugal's Badoxa" and this record reports that wording rather than adopting it as a finding. (7) Publishing. Not one document reviewed for this record touches the publishing side of any of this repertoire. Who administers these songwriters is entirely unestablished.
A CROSS-REFERENCE, NOT A FINDING. Yuri da Cunha's "Abre O Canal" of 14 October 2022 carries the credit "(P) 2022 Geobek Records / MAD Solutions LLC". MAD Solutions LLC is the same unresolved counterparty this desk has already flagged on Nigerian releases by Guchi, Phyno and Mercy Chinwo. Attempts to resolve it through US state business registries failed again for this record: Florida's Sunbiz returned HTTP 403 and California's business search was unreachable. Its appearance on Angolan repertoire is noted as a lead, not as an established connection.
On 6 November 2025 ONErpm appointed Nuno Rocha Head of Business Development for Portugal, the Lusophone and Francophone African territories, and the MENA region, and said it was “opening a new office this fall in Luanda, the capital of Angola, to further strengthen its presence in the Lusophone music market.” It also said it was “reinforcing” operations in Morocco and Tunisia while continuing to accelerate growth in Egypt.
No rights changed hands. This is a corporate expansion and a distribution-services announcement, not an acquisition, a licence or an assignment. No consideration was disclosed by any party.
This record exists because the announcement makes three checkable claims about rights relationships, and the rights record answers them unevenly.
FIRST, THE OFFICE. As at 1 October 2026, roughly eleven months after the “this fall” commitment, ONErpm’s own Our Locations page lists seven African offices: Lagos, Accra, Abidjan, Cape Town, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Cairo. Luanda is not among them and Angola does not appear on the page at all. Neither does Casablanca, Morocco, Tunis or Tunisia. Portugal is represented by Porto alone. ONErpm’s own press-releases index, fetched the same day, contains no instance of Luanda, Angola, Lusophone, Rocha, Nuno, MENA, Morocco or Tunisia. This desk records an absence from the company’s own published material. It does not establish that the Luanda office does not exist.
SECOND, THE SIGNINGS. ONErpm said Rocha had “been instrumental in signing top talent” including MAGIC, Yuri de Cunha, Firebeatz and Badoxa. Of those four, one is Angolan. MAGIC! is described in ONErpm’s own press release of 19 January 2024 as “the Canadian band.” Badoxa is described in the announcement itself as “Portugal’s Badoxa.” The announcement is an announcement about Lusophone and Francophone Africa in which the named roster achievements are largely Portuguese, Cape Verdean and Egyptian.
THIRD, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHO OWNS THE MASTERS. On the two named signings and the one named Angolan success story, the phonogram credit lines read as follows.
Badoxa: Apple returns 43 releases. Thirty-seven of them, 34 as lead artist and three as a featured artist, dated 3 March 2014 to 22 May 2026, carry the credit “(P) YYYY Ricardo Nobrega, Unipessoal Lda” and name no distributor. ONErpm appears on none of the 43, including the five releases issued after the November 2025 announcement. The masters are owned by a Portuguese single-member company, not by ONErpm, and ONErpm’s distribution of them is not visible in the credit line at any point.
Yuri da Cunha, whose name ONErpm rendered as “Yuri de Cunha”: he owns his masters personally. The credit reads “(P) YYYY Yuri da Cunha” throughout. The distributor named alongside him changes repeatedly. Altafonte Portugal, Lda. from 7 July 2013 to 13 October 2017. Kriativa records with SME Portugal in February 2018. Geobek Records with MAD Solutions LLC in October 2022. No distributor at all in October 2023. ONErpm first appears on 13 September 2024, fourteen months before the announcement, and then intermittently: present in February 2025, September 2025 and September 2026, absent in April, May and November 2025. On 15 May 2026, after ONErpm’s relationship had begun, Altafonte Portugal reappears on a release credited to K-Music.
Chelsea Dinorath, cited by ONErpm as its Angolan “standout success”: she owns her masters personally. The credit “(P) YYYY Chelsea Dinorath, distribuido por ONErpm” first appears on 17 May 2022, three and a half years before the announcement. Her most recent release, 18 September 2026, reads “(P) 2026 Chelsea Dinorath” with no distributor named. A release of 5 February 2026 is “distributed by Atlantic Records, a division of Warner Music Portugal, Lda.” with the phonogram credited to a natural person.
The pattern across all three is consistent and it is the finding of this record. In Lusophone Africa, the artists own their masters. The distributor is a service provider named in a “distribuido por” line, it is not the owner, and on this evidence it is interchangeable.
A DOCUMENTED CONTRADICTION. Two Chelsea Dinorath releases appear twice each in Apple’s catalogue with mutually exclusive phonogram credits. “Toi Et Moi”, dated 17 May 2022, appears as both “(P) 2022 Chelsea Dinorath, distribuido por ONErpm” and “(P) 2022 Central Sonora.” “Teu (feat. Djodje)”, dated 8 May 2026, appears as both “(P) 2026 Chelsea Dinorath, distribuido por ONErpm” and “(P) 2026 Was Lost Studios.” In each pair, one credit says the artist owns the master and ONErpm distributes; the other names a company as owner and no distributor. Both cannot be correct. Which is correct could not be established.
