The Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) in the United Kingdom will begin working directly with an expanded network of specialist partners from early 2027, while maintaining its long-standing relationship with PRS for Music.
New licensing partners#
- ICE Services, the licensing and processing hub founded by PRS for Music, GEMA and STIM, will handle online licensing for streaming, downloads and artificial intelligence platforms.
- Ireland’s Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) will support international licensing and collections.
- Swedish startup Maia Universe will provide automated licensing services for sync, including ads, films and games.
PRS for Music role continues#
MCPS chief executive Paul Clements said the society’s “longstanding valued strategic partnership with PRS for Music” continues alongside the new arrangements. That work includes member services, royalty distributions, licensing, usage processing, invoicing and collections for several MCPS revenue streams, as well as other day-to-day tasks.
PRS for Music chief commercial officer Dan Gopal said the organisation was “delighted to have agreed a new long-term partnership” with MCPS.
