Partisan Music is broadening its publishing operations by merging with OTM Music, while British label Ace Records has signed its first physical distribution deal with UK-based Proper.
Partisan and OTM Music#
As part of the deal, Partisan has bought out Firebird Music Holdings’ stake in OTM. OTM will become Partisan’s “primary publishing interest” and will absorb its Left Music division, which was launched in 2022.
“We have a clear shared vision for the kind of publishing company we want to build and an incredible roster to build it around,” said OTM founder and CEO Alex Sheridan, who will remain in that role after the merger.
Ace Records and Proper#
Ace Records, which marked its 50th anniversary last year, has signed its first physical distribution deal with Proper.
The label restores and releases historic recordings and compilations. It previously handled physical distribution in-house, selling more than 12 million units since it was founded in 1975.
“Moving into Proper feels like one of the last major pieces in the jigsaw – hopefully enabling us to reach many more fans and spread great music to an even wider audience,” said managing director Neil Scaplehorn.
Ace Records also plans to relaunch the punk imprint Chiswick Records in 2027, signing new artists and releasing rereleases and rarities.
