Reservoir Media, Inc. is a New York-headquartered independent music company, publicly traded on Nasdaq as RSVR since a 2021 SPAC merger with Roth CH Acquisition II. Founded in 2007 by Golnar Khosrowshahi, who remains Chair and CEO, it operates two segments, Music Publishing and Recorded Music, representing more than 150,000 copyrights and over 36,000 master recordings from a catalogue that includes Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell, Nas and Miles Davis’s publishing.
Reservoir holds no standing African office. Its one disclosed African rights holding is the publishing catalogue of South African composer and performer Lebo M (Lebohang Morake), acquired in December 2024, covering his work on The Lion King franchise and the 2010 FIFA World Cup opening and closing ceremonies. In March 2026 the company’s board formed a Special Committee, advised by Morgan Stanley and Wachtell Lipton, to evaluate an unsolicited acquisition proposal from activist investor Irenic Capital Management; no agreement had been reached as of the FY2026 10-K.
