Bu Vision LLC, also written BuVision, is a United States record company founded by the executive Abou “Bu” Thiam. Trade reporting in April 2022 described it as a joint venture with Columbia Records, announced alongside Thiam’s appointment as an executive vice president of that label.
The company is named as the exclusive licensee, not the owner, on the recorded catalogue of the Nigerian singer Qing Madi. Fifteen Apple Music collections released between 14 October 2022 and 12 September 2025 carry the credit “℗ JTON Music, under exclusive license to Bu Vision LLC”. Deezer’s label field on the same releases reads “Bu Vision”, and MusicBrainz records “BuVision” as the label on four of them.
On other recordings the company is named as a phonogram owner in its own right. The single “Survivor” by Olivetheboy and Qing Madi, released 7 March 2025, carries “℗ 2025 BuVision/Loop Music” with no reference to JTON. The distinction matters: on Qing Madi’s own catalogue Bu Vision holds a licence, and on that release it is named among the owners.
Two trade reports published on 20 February 2025 state that Thiam brought the BuVision label to Atlantic Music Group, part of Warner Music Group, with BuVision artist projects to be marketed and released through Atlantic. Neither report discloses financial terms and neither states what happened to the earlier Columbia arrangement. Qing Madi’s phonogram line did not change after that date: her single “Scumbag”, released 12 September 2025, still reads “℗ 2025 JTON Music, under exclusive license to Bu Vision LLC”.
The company could not be resolved to a corporate register. New York State’s public dataset of registered business entities returns no match for “Bu Vision”. California’s business search blocked the request from this server. No registration number, state of formation, incorporation date or shareholder record has been obtained.
