Anghami is a music and podcast streaming platform for the Middle East and North Africa, founded in 2012 in Beirut by Eddy Maroun and Elie Habib and now headquartered in Abu Dhabi. It was the first licensed streaming service built for Arabic-language repertoire, and was designed from the start for unreliable mobile networks and offline listening. It has offices in Beirut, Dubai, Cairo and Riyadh and operates in 16 countries.
Its North African markets, principally Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria, are the reason it appears in this directory. The Cairo office is a standing operation rather than a sales presence, and Egypt is one of the platform’s largest markets by users.
Anghami is listed on Nasdaq. In April 2024 OSN Group acquired 55.45 percent of the company in a transaction that combined it with the video service OSN Plus, creating a group with more than 120 million registered users and around 2.5 million paying subscribers. By June 2026 OSN held about 67 percent and had made a preliminary, non-binding proposal to take the company private at 3.39 dollars a share.
