Marlian Music, also known as Marlian Records, is a Lagos record label founded by Azeez Adeshina Fashola, the artist Naira Marley. He announced it on 30 December 2019 at his Marlian Fest concert at Eko Hotel and Suites, naming it after his fanbase. The label is built on street-pop and Afrobeats fusion and has since taken in rap and more melodic Afropop.
It is independent, founded and owned by Naira Marley, with no major-label parent or investor identified in available sourcing. Its founding signings were Zinoleesky, CBlvck, MohBad and Fabian Blu, with Lyta and Emo Grae following in 2020, Tori Keeche in 2021 and Vusic in 2022. Producers on its books have included Rexxie, Killertunes and Studio Magic. Zinoleesky has been its most commercially successful act.
MohBad left the label in 2022 in acrimonious circumstances, accusing Naira Marley of assault, and set up his own imprint, Imolenization. His death in September 2023 drew sustained public scrutiny toward the label and its founder. Marlian Music has no website; it operates through Facebook, YouTube and streaming storefronts, with contact by email.
