United Kingdom-based music royalties firm Y Royalties is hiring an Assistant Royalty Accountant to support third-party royalty statements for publishing and recorded music clients.
The role involves processing sales data through the company’s Curve royalty system and assisting with monthly, quarterly and semi-annual statements, according to the job posting.
Role responsibilities#
- Collating, editing, reconciling and loading sales data into Curve for third-party accounting.
- Assisting with client onboarding and contract set up.
- Maintaining the project management system Monday.com and the information depository Confluence.
- Delivering monthly, quarterly and semi-annual third-party royalty statements across publishing and recorded clients, manually and through Curve.
- Calculating management commission as directed by senior team members.
- Carrying out other ad hoc duties as instructed by the royalties manager and head of royalties.
Candidate requirements#
The firm said it is looking for candidates with a background in royalties accountancy and an interest in the music industry. Applicants should have a working knowledge of recording and publishing companies and collection societies, and be able to read agreements.
- At least one year at a music industry accounting firm or similar.
- Excellent Excel and MS Office skills.
- General knowledge of Curve royalty systems is an advantage.
- Experience with project management systems such as Monday.com or Jira is an advantage.
Desirable attributes include teamwork, knowledge of music royalties, publishing and recording, multitasking, time management, prioritisation, and communication and organisational skills.
