South African Music Awards 2026: HLE and Kabza De Small Lead Winners

HLE and Kabza De Small each won three awards at the 32nd South African Music Awards, while Tyla received the International Achievement Award.

South African artists HLE and Kabza De Small each won three awards at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32), held at Sun City Arena in South Africa’s North West province on 15 August.

Tyla received the International Achievement Award.

HLE

  • Best Contemporary Faith Music Album for The Ground We’re On
  • SAMPRA (South African Music Performance Rights Association) Album of the Year for The Ground We’re On
  • South Africa’s Lesedi FM Female Artist of the Year

In the Best Contemporary Faith Music Album category, The Ground We’re On was named ahead of projects by Nqubeko Mbatha, Mmuso Worship, Ncebakazi Msomi and Brenden Praise.

Kabza De Small

  • Best Amapiano Album for Bab’Motha
  • Best Collaboration for Abantwana Bakho with DJ Maphorisa, XDuppy, Thatohatsi, Young Stunna and Nkosazana Daughter
  • Remix of the Year for the remix of Eningi

Kabza De Small’s Bab’Motha won Best Amapiano Album ahead of Babalwa M, De Mthuda and Kelvin Momo, who had two nominations in the category. His remix of Eningi featured Njelic, Mthunzi, Mkeyz, GL_Ceejay and Simmy.
