Sony’s Pulse Elevate desktop speakers will launch in South Africa on 12 November, with pre-orders opening in September, according to local PlayStation distributor Koodoo.
Sony first announced the Pulse Elevate in 2025 and said the product would ship in 2026. Koodoo, the South African distributor for PlayStation, has confirmed local availability.
Design and compatibility
The speakers have tactile buttons on the top panel and a midnight black colourway. They are designed to work with the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, PC and Mac on a desk. Sony describes them as portable, with support for PlayStation Portal, smartphones, TVs and TV boxes.
Audio and voice features
- Each speaker is fitted with “studio-inspired” planar magnetic drivers, intended to reproduce sound as the developer intended.
- A built-in woofer handles bass and supports the PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech.
- Microphones with artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced noise rejection are designed to prevent speaker audio from feeding into party chat.
Pricing
In the United States, the Pulse Elevate is priced at $220, approximately R3,600 in South African rand. Official South African pricing has not been confirmed.
