Nigerian Afropop artist Nigerian Afropop artist Drey Star will release “Kira” on September 26, a single that pays tribute to his parents and the sacrifices they made for him.

The track honors a father who carried responsibility, provided and protected even when life demanded more than he had to give, and a mother whose love warmed the home, stretched little into enough and offered prayers for her children through unseen struggles. Together, Drey Star sings, his parents represent a love that gives without keeping score and endures through good days and difficult ones.
“Kira” follows his previous releases “Live Your Life,” “Reluwe,” and “Lala,” continuing a run of songwriting rooted in his own life story. Drey Star began writing for churches and brands before going independent, and was the main artist for the Ogun at 50 celebration in Nigeria’s Ogun State, composing its official theme song. He has also appeared on Nigeria’s TVC and Ogun State Television (OGTV).
