Kirk Franklin Signs With Relaunched Uptown Records

Gospel artist Kirk Franklin has entered a partnership with the relaunched Uptown Records, Fo Yo Soul Entertainment and TRIBL Music Group.

Kirk Franklin, a 20-time Grammy-winning gospel artist, songwriter and producer, has signed with the relaunched Uptown Records in partnership with Fo Yo Soul Entertainment and TRIBL Music Group, the companies announced Monday.

To mark the deal, Franklin will release the music video for his latest single, “Thank You for Everything,” featuring gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard of the Clark Sisters, later Monday.

“To be a part of the Uptown family is a genuine honor. I feel energized by the entire team’s enthusiasm and support already. It’s a blessing, and I’m beyond thankful and excited for what the future holds. Let’s make history together!”

Franklin said in a statement.

Uptown roster and executive response#

Natina Nimene, Uptown executive and executive vice president of urban audience and artist relations at the Republic Collective, said, “No one has shaped gospel and sustained its influence from one decade to the next quite like Kirk Franklin.
