“As a Culture Brand, bringing Haus of Kühl to Nairobi for the first time is an exciting milestone for us because Nairobi is a city with such a powerful and constantly evolving creative pulse,” Ephraim Manana, Jägermeister’s senior culture and experiential marketing manager, said. “We wanted to create an experience that goes beyond music and brings together the many different worlds that make culture what it is, from music and dance to fashion, art, discovery and community.”
Manana added that the platform is intended to provide a space for established and emerging creatives to share audiences and platforms.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring this experience to Kenya and to celebrate the talent, energy and cultural diversity that make Nairobi such an important creative city in Africa.”
Event spaces and activities#
The event will be divided into several spaces. The Main Stage will host performances by the featured artists, while the Dance Stage will focus on underground sounds and emerging nightlife movements in Nairobi.
A Silent Disco curated by Studio Can-V will feature emerging DJs from its network in head-to-head battles. The Manifest Speakeasy will provide a separate lounge space offering tarot readings.
Fashion will feature through the Meister Market, which will showcase Nairobi streetwear brands Pesos and HAGT. The space will also include artwork created for Haus of Kühl, with selected designs available as customisable screen-printed merchandise.
Other activities include a Gaming Zone featuring giant Jenga and console games, and a Safe Now Zone where attendees can hydrate, rest and access support from the event team.
Platform background#
Haus of Kühl, which translates to “House of Cool” in German, was launched in South Africa in 2023. The platform has since held events and special editions in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, combining music and nightlife with fashion, art and other creative disciplines.
The Nairobi event will mark its first expansion into East Africa.
