IPNation Targets $100M Investment in Arabic Music Catalogues Across MENA
IPNation, a new entity co-founded by Eddy Maroun and Jose Maria Dot, has launched with a $100 million target to invest in Arabic music and entertainment intellectual property across the Middle East and North Africa.
A new entity named IPNation has been formed to invest in Arabic music catalogues and entertainment intellectual property across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with an initial target of $100 million.
The venture is a partnership between Influence Media Partners, whose portfolio includes works by Enrique Iglesias, Future, and Blake Shelton, and IPNation, founded by Anghami co-founder Eddy Maroun and investment veteran Jose Maria Dot. IPNation will focus on acquiring and developing iconic Arabic music and entertainment IP, as well as artist brands and name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights in the region.
“The Middle East represents one of the most exciting opportunities for long-term growth,” said Ram Kolluri of Influence Media Partners. Jose Maria Dot added, “Arabic music and entertainment IP represent one of the most undervalued cultural asset classes globally today.”
No acquisitions have been announced yet, but IPNation said it is currently evaluating a number of potential deals. The launch comes as efforts to modernise licensing frameworks and royalty collection systems in the MENA region gain momentum, a development that could significantly increase the value of music catalogues there.
The partnership is betting that improved royalty infrastructure will unlock higher and more reliable payouts for rights holders, making Arabic music IP an increasingly attractive asset class.
