Black Sherif’s debut album “The Villain I Never Was” has passed 300 million streams on Spotify, the first project by the Ghanaian artist to reach that mark on the platform.
The record blends hip-hop, highlife and African drill, and includes the tracks “Kwaku the Traveller,” “Oh Paradise” and “Second Sermon.”
In 2023, the same album crossed 300 million streams on Boomplay and became the most-streamed Ghanaian album on that service.
The Spotify milestone adds to that earlier Boomplay record.
