Seas Capital is a venture capital firm founded in 2019 by Mike Peng. In its own description, issued alongside the Boomplay funding announcement, the firm describes itself as focused on structural innovation investments across software and services, consumer goods and services, and globalization, including outbound investment into emerging markets such as Africa.
Seas Capital participated in Boomplay’s 20 million dollar Series A funding round in April 2019, alongside lead investor Maison Capital, in the Africa-focused music and video streaming service owned by Transsnet, the joint venture between Transsion Holdings and NetEase.
