Road Boys Association (RBA) is the Ghana-based management operation for Ashanti Region rapper and singer Black Sherif (born Mohammed Ismail Sherif). Wikipedia lists Road Boys Association and EMPIRE as the two labels associated with his catalogue.
RBA issued a public statement on 9 March 2022, carried by MyJoyOnline, confirming Black Sherif remained under its management after online speculation that he had signed away from RBA to EMPIRE. The statement said RBA retained “absolute ownership of the artiste’s masters” and disputed the authenticity of contract documents circulating on social media at the time, without disclosing the actual terms of the EMPIRE arrangement.
A separate label credit, “RBA”, appears in MusicBrainz’s registry data on two 2025 releases (the single “Lord I’m Amazed” and one catalogue entry for the album Iron Boy), distinct from the “Blacko Management” credit that appears on Apple Music’s phonogram line for the same album and on earlier releases. Public sources do not clarify whether RBA and Blacko Management are the same commercial entity operating under two names, or two distinct entities.
