Promised Land Recordings Ltd

Based in
London, United Kingdom
Founded
29 January 2016

Promised Land Recordings Ltd is a London-registered label-services and licensing company (UK company number 09976496, incorporated 29 January 2016) that has held the exclusive licence named on the phonogram (℗) credit of every Ruger release checked from his February 2021 debut single through his most recent single, spanning both his Jonzing World era and his own post-2024 Blownboy Entertainment imprint.

Companies House records show the company was majority-owned throughout its life by music executive Ferdinand (Ferdy) Unger-Hamilton, who has held 75 per cent or more of its shares and voting rights since 6 April 2016. Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited held a separate 25-50 per cent stake, notified 7 November 2016, the same date Unger-Hamilton took charge as President of Columbia Records UK and was confirmed to be running an unnamed joint venture with Sony Music UK alongside that role. Sony’s stake, and the directorship of Sony nominee Michael Anthony Smith, both ended on 30 March 2023, shortly after Unger-Hamilton’s departure from Columbia was announced. Unger-Hamilton has remained the company’s sole listed director and controlling shareholder since incorporation.

Its own roster beyond Ruger, per third-party retailer label pages, has included HEW, Oppidan and Delilah Montagu; no company website or newsroom was located to verify this independently.
