M Soul Records, also credited as Maisha Soul Records, is the recorded-music imprint of the Balume family of Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is the phonogram rights holder for the catalogue of Innoss’B (Innocent Balume), crediting releases from 2016’s “Pepele” and “Logik” through 2024’s “Amapiupiu” and into 2026 output distributed worldwide by ONErpm.
The imprint traces back to Maisha Soul, a band the Balume brothers, Prince, Achille, Eric and Innocent, formed in a Goma displacement camp in 2002 following the Mount Nyiragongo eruption, with training through the Yole!Africa cultural centre. No Congolese company register entry has been found for either name, and no director or managing partner has been named publicly; it operates as a family label rather than a formally incorporated business as far as public records show.
M Soul Records matters in the DRC market as the vehicle behind one of Central Africa’s biggest streaming exports, Innoss’B, whose catalogue now moves through a global distribution deal while the label itself remains a family-run, Goma-based operation.
