JTON Entertainment Limited is a Nigerian record company that trades as JTON Music. Both names appear in a statement the company issued on 5 June 2026, which refers to “JTON Entertainment Limited DBA JTON Music” and to Joy Tongo. Reporting of that statement describes Joy Tongo as the company’s founder.
The company appears in the phonogram line on the recorded catalogue of the Nigerian singer Qing Madi. Of the 17 Apple Music collections on which she is the first credited artist between 14 October 2022 and 12 September 2025, 15 carry the credit “℗ JTON Music, under exclusive license to Bu Vision LLC”. The line is identical on the United States, Nigerian, British, South African and French storefronts. That wording names JTON as the owner of the sound recording copyright and a separate company as its exclusive licensee. It is a licence, not an assignment.
In its 5 June 2026 statement the company said it “also has a recording and distribution agreement with Sony Music and Bu Vision” and that “where recordings fall within those arrangements, they cannot be released, distributed, or commercially exploited outside the agreed structure without the necessary authorisation”. No such agreement has been published by any party, and no Sony entity appears in any phonogram credit obtained for the catalogue.
The company could not be resolved to a corporate register. Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission has no public search interface. A search of the United Kingdom register at Companies House for “JTON” returns no company of that name in music or entertainment. No registration number, incorporation date, registered address or shareholder record has been obtained.
The company is claimant and applicant in Suit No. LD/5242CMW/2025 before the High Court of Lagos State, according to a statement issued by KFMD on 5 June 2026. JTON’s own statement of the same date says the court “granted part of JTON’s interlocutory injunction application” on the recordings produced, promoted or financed under it, pending determination of the suit. No court document has been obtained by this desk and neither characterisation of the ruling has been checked against the judgment.
