Indigenous Film Distribution (Pty) Ltd

South African film distributor sold alongside Gallo Music Investments in 2020; recorded here for the deal price it establishes, not as a music company.

Indigenous Film Distribution is a South African film business described in Tiso Blackstar Group SE’s 6 March 2020 JSE announcement as handling the acquisition, marketing and distribution of motion pictures produced in South Africa and across the African continent, for global distribution.

It was sold alongside Gallo Music Investments by Blackstar Holdings Group to Arena Holdings on 6 March 2020, for ZAR 10 million of the ZAR 75 million combined price. That per-company allocation is what establishes the price actually paid for the Gallo music business, which is the reason this entry exists in a music directory: Indigenous Film Distribution is a film company, not a music company, and is recorded here only as the other half of that transaction.
