Emazulwini Production and Projects (Pty) Ltd, trading as Emazulwini Productions, is the South African record company owned by the singer Nomcebo Zikode (Nomcebo Nothule Nkwanyana). She set it up after a dispute with her former label, Open Mic Productions, over the termination of her recording agreement and over royalties from Jerusalema and the album Xola Moya Wam.
The company is independent and artist-owned rather than major-backed, though it licenses out for distribution: it is credited as the phonogram owner on Zikode’s own releases from October 2023 onward, and as a co-owner of the copyright line on Bayethe alongside Kellerman Music and Mayonie Productions, under exclusive licence to Universal Music South Africa. South African press has named Pushkin, Skillz, Torque Muziq, Tee Jay and Exclusive Drumz among artists working with the label.
Emazulwini appears in the record of the Gauteng High Court as second applicant in Nkwanyana and Another v Open Mic Productions (Pty) Ltd and Another, case 098393/2023, where the settlement agreement is described as covering “her record label Emazulwini Productions”. The company has no working website. Two candidate domains were checked: emazulwini.co.za belongs to an unrelated manufacturer, and emg.africa, the address in the label’s own X bio, is a registrar placeholder.
