The Bureau Nigérien du Droit d’Auteur (BNDA) is Niger’s national copyright office, created by decree in December 1995 as a public professional-character establishment under the technical supervision of the ministry in charge of culture and the financial supervision of the Ministry of Finance. It is based in Niamey.
BNDA’s mandate covers the moral and economic interests of its member authors, both in Niger and abroad through reciprocal agreements with sister societies; it has represented foreign authors’ societies since joining CISAC in October 1997. Its core work is collecting and redistributing royalties from the use of members’ works by broadcasters and other users, alongside anti-piracy efforts. Zarami Fadji Katiella serves as Directrice Générale, per Nigerien state media.
Like several West African copyright offices, BNDA has no standalone website; its activities are reported mainly through Nigerien outlets such as Le Sahel and the Agence Nigérienne de Presse.
