Blue Label Telecoms Limited is a South African company listed on the JSE, whose core business the company describes in its 2013 integrated annual report as “the virtual distribution of secure electronic tokens of value (predominantly prepaid airtime and electricity at present) and transactional services across its global footprint of touch points”.

Between January 2008 and September 2012 the group owned Content Connect Africa Proprietary Limited, the Johannesburg content aggregator, holding it inside its Mobile segment alongside Cellfind and Blue Label One. The group’s audited financial statements record that it disposed of 100% of Content Connect Africa to management for R2 million, having by then carried a R25 million impairment provision against a R27 million cost of shares.
