Blownboy Entertainment is the imprint Nigerian singer Ruger (Michael Adebayo Olayinka) announced on his own Instagram on 6 February 2024, alongside a public statement that he was leaving D’Prince’s Jonzing World: “Thank you Jonzing world and dprince for believing in me and taking me this far… It’s sad that I have to leave but God knows best… It is time for @blownboyent.”
No Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission filing was checked, because the CAC has no public search interface; no UK Companies House entity under this name was located either. Its existence as a going concern rests on the artist’s own statement, trade press reporting of the split, and an unbroken run of releases carrying its name on the phonogram credit from March 2024 onward. From November 2024 its releases have carried the credit “Blownboy Entertainment under exclusive license to Promised Land Recordings Limited”, the same UK licensee that carried Ruger’s prior, Jonzing World-credited catalogue. Two earlier 2024 releases (Romeo Must Die and POE, plus the joint EP RnB with fellow Nigerian artist BNXN) instead carried “Blown Boy Ent. / T.Y.E / EMPIRE,” naming BNXN’s T.Y.E label and EMPIRE Distribution rather than Promised Land Recordings.
